Full Moon in Libra April 6th, 2012 12:20 PDT
Under the sun-sign of Aries one should expect that action takes place at a neck breaking speed. Aries are known for their pioneering and restless spirit, their need to see task moving and participate in as much dynamic change as possible. Directly across from Aries at a 180-degrees angle, the full moon will broadcast its light rays through the Libra filter. Some of the gifts that a Libra full moon brings is a little balance to temper the “look before you leap” energy that many Aries are known for. While Aries can be an amazing force for getting projects moving, they often have a hard time following through until the project is done. Libra’s leadership qualities often help to temper the nervous energy that many experience at the beginning of spring.
Since Libra is linked with all archetypes of balance, and fairness expect the action oriented and self-centered Aries energy to be fine-tuned to a more inclusive, universal and loving frequency between April 5th, 6th and 7th as Libra’s ruler Venus/Aphrodite/Ixchel insists on a balance, community and nurture. I hope that you have been good to yourself and to others because Karmic debts are typically collected under the Libra full moon, and Libra is not as forgiving as Santa Claus.
If you are ready for love, Spring begins with the Full Moon in Libra in the Northern Hemisphere, so while flowers are blooming and hormones are rushing, expect All of cupid’s cherubs to be on patrol waiting to catch you when you least expect it. Since April is named after Aphrodite, naturally the sun will go into Taurus, another Zodiac sign ruled by the love goddess, on Friday April 19th. April symbolically is as full of as much love as one could ask for in a month.
If you are watching the Sky, you should also see Venus during the day as the planet is in its inferior conjunction with the earth and sun (which means it is on the side closest to the earth). When Venus has a superior conjunction, Venus is in alignment with earth, but when Venus is on the other side of the sun, it appears as an evening star. In Mayan Astrology, those who are born in the evening tend to be a bit more conventional, while those born in the morning tend to be more unique.
This week is especially good for Aries (although you might not feel that way everyday), Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius, Gemini, Taurus and Scorpio…sorry Leo, Cancer, Virgo, Pisces and Capricorn, you will be pushed unless you have fire in your moon or Ascendant.
Expect continual social change in 2012 because it is the year of the Dragon in Eastern Astrology (often called Chinese Astrology). Even though the Dragon is typically a creature of fire, all Eastern Astrology signs have a version for each of the elements: Fire, Metal, Earth, Water, and Wood. This year is the water dragon so the effects are supposed to positively impact the whole of humanity and consciousness for the better.
For the more advanced, Mercury comes out of Retrograde and goes direct on April 4th. The drama will begin to go away—hooray!
Have a great week. The week leading up to the full moon on Friday (Yellow Cosmic Star
Planetary 3, Kin: 208 in Mayan Astrology) is a time of the great activity and renewal that spring is known for. Get out to a Farmer’s Market, go catch a movie, or (spring) clean your home; this is a time for creating the momentum for a fantastic spring.
