Is there any one thing more vital to the human experience? It’s an ephemeral, impossible thing. Yet… Our lives, our days and our moments have no meaning or value without it. Without hope we merely keep existing. We need to believe our experiences, whether good or ill, truly mean something. We will cling to hope in times of storm, regardless of all that tries to rend it from us, and in those greatest moments, we are pushed and pushed, and must choose between survival and putting up your own life, merely for hope. In those moments, we are as gods. Indeed, we surpass those cold, unfeeling gods, because for all their austere mythic power, they can never truly feel as we do, are never truly alive, and when we truly live and die, for anything, but especially hope? We are as a supernova in an empty and black sky.
If you are present in our society at all, you will frequently feel as though you have no hope. Indeed, you will feel as though hope is a luxury that you can ill afford. School shootings, murder of the innocent while the guilty and those soaked in blood walk free, while corporations and governments rob us blind, poison our world and our bodies, all while demanding we bow to them and smile for the privilege. Every day, our world seems a little
more broken and flawed. In America, we have been at war for 12 years. No one cares. The atrocities and mindless reality of it is met with apathy. No one has time to feel. Our every move, word, thought and action is being recorded, studied, and processed. We have all been seen naked and all have a price tag on our heads- Not of our value, but of our worth. This is not a manifesto. I do not have the answers to any of these problems, nor would this be the proper medium for exploring them. What I do have however, is vision. As astrologers, we are uniquely placed to see the greater patterns in time, and plan for them accordingly. We probably won’t win the lotto, but we can see broad strokes in the narrative. We are also human. My vision is different from a reader in China, or a shaman from Russia, or a healer in India. My vision is uniquely mine, as yours is to you. Today, for the first time in many years, at my absolute lowest and without any evidence at all to support it… I see Hope. More than see it, I feel it in me. My vision is bleak, and my chance for future survival is at its very best volatile, but… today, at least, the Sun shines, the air is clear, and I have hope.
In my mind, there is no more revolutionary response to this day.
The Sun, Moon and Jupiter- With the ruler of the Lunation involved like this, especially when its Jupiter, and he’s exalted, you know this is a Moon to watch. Don’t be surprised if you have a moment similar to the one I just outlined above. It will be unique to you, and exactly what you need. Don’t expect it or try and force it, it will be in its own time, while you’re busy with something else. Also involved are the dwarf planets Eris and Rhadamanthus (one of the most fun ones to say!), the entire Astro forecast distilled into one aspect- Rhadamanthus is judgment, the rulers, like a colder, sterner Saturn that cannot be moved- opposite Eris, the striver, the individual, the one shoved out into the cold by those who set the rules. This is a clash between the two forces, and if neither gives, they will destroy each other. Your mantra right now should be Do no harm, but take no shit- Be slow to judge, but quick to defend yourself if pushed. I would say do not engage, but Rhadamanthus will not be content, you will be dragged into the conflict- Keep your zen. Defend your boundaries but go no further. Battle lines are being drawn, and swords are being rattled. Pholus confirms this, and shows that a small act can have repercussions as yet unseen.
Mercury and Neptune- With both of these two going Retrograde, it only makes sense to look at them together. All the usual warnings apply, no contracts, beware technology, yadda yadda. What is different is these two, together… They are the magicians. Mercury rules the application of magic and manipulation of reality, while Neptune rules the magic itself, and how reality presents itself to us. Do not be afraid to tap into your magick now, remake your reality as you see fit. Know; Will; Dare; And Be Silent. Know what it is you want, have your vision; Be Willing to burn down everything you have now to make that a reality; Dare to pull the trigger; and make it yours. You will be prompted to do this to escape toxicity in your life, Nessus and Hades tell us. 1992 QB1 and Atropos show that a cycle has come to an end, and a new one is beginning; but like a carousel, you have to jump on your horse as it goes around, or risk missing it to some other kid. Ophelia warns against drama, yours and others. Keep it chill, and you will do fine. Altjira demands nothing less than the biggest possible dream you can make for yourself. Amor and Aphrodite confirm- set yourself on the path of rediscovering what exactly you want from life, what sets your heart on fire, and chase that down. You will feel stirrings that you thought were long-dead: Honor them and listen Venus, Saturn and Chiron- Strange bedfellows, these guys are. Venus is now in her dignity, in Taurus, and loving every second of it. Its indulgence at its finest, and Saturn in Scorp secretly loves the opulence and wanton abandon of it all. Chiron just wants someone to buy him a drink. Echeclus shows that underneath your façade, you are coming unglued. Give yourself as much love as possible right now, it is needed. Do this without restraint or apologizing for it. Honor yourself, and make it an art form. When you treat yourself how you want to be treated, others will follow your example. Borasisi confirms this and shows you that you do not need to stretch yourself and break down to serve others. Serve yourself first, always. Mars, Uranus and Pluto- And the Cardinal Crisis to close us out- Gotta love a great finale, eh? Jupiter is finally moving out of it, so watch wherever you have Cancer in your chart, as that’s the target for this round. Cyllarus shows that you truly need to get yourself out on the stage right now, and its only by your own works that it can happen. Terpsichore, Pandora and Orpheus all confirm this- Trust your talent. Oh, there goes your cue, you’re on! Don’t listen to the stage fright that is Deucalion, just go and shut the house down! Dum Spiro Spero -Helios
