New Moon in Sagittarius
November 22, 2014 4:32 am PST, 7:32 am EST, 12:32 pm UT
In Astrolosophy, the Moon stands for emotions, instincts, and the unconscious. The moon rules desire as opposed to ego and need as opposed to the urgency or reason. The moon describes how you feel about yourself, how you handle relationships, and how you internally respond emotionally to external situations and experiences. It describes the flow of your daily functions; physical, emotional, and mental. The moon represents your home and domestic environment. It rules babies and young children, families, your mother and other significant and often formidable females and nurturers in your life.
Why Am I Sharing Insights on the Moon In Astrology?
The light that radiates from the sun bounces off, or in laymen’s terms, reflects off of the surface of the moon. In this context, the moon in your astrology chart is a reflection of your true self. Like all light in third-dimension reality, it has a companion shadow. The energy of the Sagittarius Moon will be reflecting the light from the Sagittarius sun, prompting all of us star children to deal with a more explosively potent influence of the shadow aspects of Sagittarius. This will especially ring true as we ramp up towards the full moon in Gemini December 6, 2014. At 12:27 pm UT, we will get to experience the vitality and self-expression of the Sagittarius sun reflected of the quicksilver surface of the Gemini moon. While both Sagittarius and Gemini are known for their creative genius, each of these crusaders are also known for being Bat $h*t Cray Cray. (#BSCC—Think of Gemini Prince singing the extended version of “Let’s Go Crazy!” if you want to best understand the flavor of this “Cray Cray”)
Exactly what is my interpretation of #BSCC?
Well we know that the original term was, “Crazier Than A $h*t House Rat.” Not to be confused with someone going “Ape$h*t.” The common denominator is the feces that I crudely refer to as $h*t. $h*t, like all forms of decomposing animal or plant matter, create a gas called methane that is highly combustible! The urban myth is that when transporting dung or fertilizer, one must Ship High In Transit close to the openings to keep the chance of detonation risk low. We now know that the term comes from the word schite (dung) which evolved into the word skheid (to separate, as in separate from the body) leaving us with a very intriguing irony: The New Moon in Sagittarius will inspire you to get yourself (read: $h*t) together, no matter how fanciful a tale of etymology I share!
Sagittarius is known for being #BSCC because they tend to exaggerate. This is connected to Sagittarius’ ruler, Jupiter, whose primary function is grandiose EXPANSION! To those of you that doubt the “Sagittarian” enthusiasm and zest for life, their behavior could definitely seem over the top. But the wisest observers recognize Sagittarius’ ability to use their optimism as a key that allows them access to the highest levels of the “Law of Attraction.” So in essence, the Bat $h*t Cray Cray aspect that gallops around striking people with the business end of their bluntness bat is the same quality that reduces the space between thought, action and manifested outcome. It is this striking quality that help give Sagittarii their reputation as “the teacher of heroes” in the material world. So #BSCC bluntness and righteousness may be the Sagittarius shadow, but its capacity for flexibility, creativity and optimism can seem endless. Just be careful not to over-commit as we go into Sagittarius season and you will experience long-term rewards.
Are You Ready To Start Pushing?
Well I hope so! Saturn in Scorpio has been an amazing experience where many of us have learned to identify and push past our emotional and intellectual limitations. This cycle of success and failure has helped many to develop a range of skills to use as tools for manifesting sustainable success. Along with Saturn’s lessons on boundaries, guidelines, authority, limitations and accolades the attitude that we approach like while serve as a superconductor that closes the circuit that drives the lightning nplt of Jupiter’s expansion.
Gravity Versus Levity
If Saturn is the chakra energy that grounds us, then Jupiter is the lightning flash of indigo light that powers the neurotransmitters in our bodies on a microcosmic level all the way through the galactic singularities the of macrocosmic creativity that drives the multiverse. The great news is that Saturn and Jupiter are like twins. They are like the two masks of Greek Theater, comedy and tragedy or perhaps the best context to interpret them is gravity versus levity. Saturn’s symbol is like an upside down Jupiter symbol. And why not? Jupiter stands for expansion and Saturn stands for contraction. Naturally, using balance will serve you best.
No matter how big or small our troubles or triumphs may be, Saturn will enter Sagittarius December 23, 2014 4:33 pm UT with a world more conscious of respecting details but prioritizing aligning bliss with responsibility and the courage to shoot for the stars.
Saturn will leave the emotional element of water and jump into the element of fire spawning dynamic actions that will lead to a series of changes that will impact us through 2016.
- The planet of luck and fortune, Jupiter is in Leo.
- The planet of forward thinking authenticity, Uranus is in Aries.
- Now Saturn in Sagittarius has joined the chrysalis of change.
Expect there to be many activations of change in action as we transition from the year of the green wood horse into the year of the green wood Goat/Sheep. The only transpersonal planet not involved in the changes in Pluto. In fact, one might argue that Pluto in Capricorn will be stubbornly riding the brakes of our collective cosmic chariot while The fire sign energies put the petal to the metal and flip the nitrous switch.
Dipping Your Toes in The Waters of Snake Medicine and Healing
As we go through the emotional reset of the new moon in Sagittarius please keep in mind that this is a time for great healing. This is that area that Scorpius and Sagittarius share called, “Ophiuchus” or “Serpentarius.” This is the so-called 13th sign of the zodiac that has one foot on the ecliptic between Scorpius and Sagittarius that is related to Asclepius or Imhotep, one of the first big names in healing medicine from antiquity. Like Mercury’s Caduceus, one snake will harm you and one snake may heal you, just remember that the Rod of Asclepius is made just for healing. While this Snake bearer can easily be equated to “snake charmer,” his real significance is recognizing that the cure to our problems are easier to achieve when we understand their cause. All of the learning we did since the eclipse at 0º Scorpio will serve as the diagnosis that we will be using as we take our long term physical and mental health into our hands and apply measurable actions that can be sustained indefinitely. Don’t be afraid to shed that snake skin and transform.
Will it all be tough?
At times you may feel like you are a burnt out mess that is ready to combust like the fiery arrow of Sagittarius. But as usual, each part of the cycle of development is a different call to action within the context of the “Hero’s Journey” and I believe that it is fair to assume that you will do quite well. Hold empathy for others as Sagittarius/Chiron is known as “The wounded healer,” prompting us to put empathy and sympathy before judgment at times when it can boost healing. I am not telling you not to speak your truth, I am suggesting that you do it with finesse. Just remember: There is no failure, only feedback.
Continue to have the courage of Chiron and learn from your mistakes and accept that mistakes and failures contribute to developing everyone of us into a wise “crone” or “sage” (“Sage-attarius”) on the “fool’s journey” that is life. This next month of Sagittarian sun will be tarining us all as if we were Achilles, Jason or one of the many Argonauts on the Argos ship. Each one of us seeking out our own personal golden fleece.
