Virgo, the 7 and the 9, The Alpha and the Omega

Virgo is associated with many goddesses from many cultures around the world.

The sign of Virgo is ruled by Mercury. Virgo is associated with Wednesday, Archangel Raphael, Seshat, Merlin, and Isis just to name a few figures in mythology. Physically, Virgo is related to the nerves and the digestive system. It is said to have a feminine nature, and is therefore more reactive in its energy.

As an Earth (Hexahedron) sign, Virgo is connected with material things and practical manifestation, relating to work, the body and organization principle. As a Mutable sign it is versatile, adaptable and at times, dynamic. Their talent for criticism and scrutiny manifests as a gift for discernment and analysis for the purpose of improvement.

Planets in this sign express themselves in a perfectionist way, and have a tendency towards both scrutiny  and self-criticism. Most Virgo criticism and scrutiny comes from a place of love. They love so fiercely that they want what’s best for everyone that is important to them.

Virgo has a drive to work hard along with a strong motivation to be helpful and of service to people on an individual and collective level. The work principle is exalted in Virgo’s house, and there is a need to organize people socially in relation to work. There is a tendency to analyze everything and compartmentalize information. The rational mind is dominant, and greater balance could be achieved if the ability to allow fantasy and irrational impulses could be cultivated.

Virgo females can be referred to as Persephone and males can be referred to as Perseus

Virgo males are often associated with the hero Perseus

Virgo is also known as Andromeda or Perseus.
